They won't just sit back and play for draw because they could end up in second place in the group. A good example of this is Germany in Group A. Going into their third game, they may have clinched a spot in the round of 16 but if they slip up they could end up second in the group and have to play England in the round of 16. In the third game of the group stage, the matches start at the same time so even though teams will follow the scores of the other match, they still have to take care of their own business and win the match so they don't have to depend on the result of the other game.
